I'm Stella Yamazaki. I was born and raised in Minnesota, but I call Chicago home. I teach ACE 3 courses. They're TOEIC courses, both advanced and intermediate. 

TOEIC is a vocabulary test of conversational English and particularly of professional level business English, so my course concentrates on vocabulary. We do business vocabulary and then learn Latin roots, so that we can guess the meanings of words. We do certain test-taking techniques. We play games. It's an intensive course, just like the TOEIC Test is, and the students have to work really hard for me. There are at least two vocabulary tests every class and a lot of homework, reading homework, because that's really where the students can progress the most.

The benefits to my course are that if you work hard, if you are serious, if you work hard in class and also outside of class, you can raise your TOEIC score considerably, and that score will help you get a good job in an economy where very few students are able to get good jobs.

The other thing is the ACE certificate. It will open the door to jobs. You can choose your job with that certificate. You have to have a TOEIC score of 700. That does not come without effort or without guidance from a good teacher, and I hope to give that guidance.

For my philosophy of teaching, it's "never waste anybody's time." You're paying good money for this course. I want to give you your money's worth. My father was a businessman. He always made sure to give the customer 110 percent for their money. I plan to give you everything I have to help you get the best score you can.
